” We chose to adopt a dog in a shelter or at the SPA rather than buying from a kennel, because we believe it is important to provide the beautiful living environment that we can offer an abandoned animal. At the SPA de l’Estrie, we have found both personalized service and people who are attentive to ensure that the dogs entrusted to them find a good family as quickly as possible.
We have therefore completed the questionnaire online. We have clearly detailed what we were looking for based on our lifestyle and what we can offer a dog. It is a very important step to ensure the success of the approach.
Following the pandemic, few dogs were at adoption. We were therefore preparing to wait a long time. But, we still received a call quickly! A little Drago, 5 months old, mixed Rottweiler was available. Upon our arrival, we followed the COVID protocol to enter the premises. Immediately, we were invited to go back to the dog park, Drago joined us there to come and meet us, and especially, our dog Orya. He enters the dog park and there, no time to detach the leash. There he goes to play with Orya. Between two races, he came to say hello. We took the time to ask complementary questions about his story and in 15 minutes, it was done. We said yes for life.
We decided to rename him Dobby, because he looked too much like the house elf in Harry Potter!
