Whether you live in the city or the countryside, registering your pet, paying for your license with the SPA de l’Estrie, and ensuring your companion wears its tag at all times is first and foremost an obligation undre the regulations of the municipalities served by our organization.

But beyond this obligation, paying for your license and having your pet wear its tag ensures its safety. If your pet runs away, gets lost, or is injured, its tag clearly and visibly indicates that it has a family.

Every year, in January, you will receive your pet’s licence renewal in the mail. The licence is valid from January 1st to December 31st.

NO. Your pet will keep the same ID tag with the same code. However, if they lose their ID, we will replace it free of charge.

NO. The due date indicated on your invoice is your payment deadline. Registration is valid from January 1 to December 31 of the same year. The regulation also stipulates that all individuals must obtain a licence for their animal within 15 days of acquisition, regardless of the month of the year.

These are not interest charges, but rather administration and late fees related to the costs inccured in issuing a new invoice and carrying out all the steps in the process of collecting unpaid licenses.

The imposition of administrative fees is required by municipal regulations. This provision is part of municipal council’s efforts to encourage citizens to pay for their pet registration within the pescribed time limits. This measure was introduced due to too many late payments in the past.

The rules are designed as follows: registration is valid from January 1st to December 31st. However, we are flexible and accept that animals acquired after November 1st will not be charged again in January of the following year. Nevertheless, we must set and adhere to a deadline.
